Getting a better night’s sleep means waking up refreshed and energetic.
When we don’t have enough sleep, it affects everything in our life. We aren’t as productive as we could be, we aren’t as energetic as we could be, we aren’t as happy as we could be, and our body doesn’t feel as healthy as it could.
There are several essential oils that have calming and relaxing properties. My personal favorites are Lavender, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Petitgrain, and Serenity calming blend. Often when using electronics such as computers, tablets, iphones, watching TV until late at night as well as stress and personal worries can impact sleep. Since I’ve developed a routine using Lavender or Calming blend, Vetiver and Cedarwood, I’ve been able to fall asleep much faster, stay asleep, and wake up feeling much more rested. I add a few drops of fractionated coconut oil to my palm and add one to two drops Lavender or Serenity, rub my palms and then apply to the back of my neck and down my traps, apply some to my wrists (so I can smell the oil while falling asleep), and apply one drop of Vetiver or Cedarwood or Petitgrain under the soles of my feet. Other simple solutions are putting 2-3 drops across the pillow. I also use a diffuser in the bedroom and add a total of four drops of my favorite soothing essential oils. Taking a soaking bath or foot massage with some of the essential oils mentioned is also very relaxing and promotes better sleep.
I’m more productive, I feel better, and I’m a happier person after a good night’s rest and I thank these essential oils for it!
